Mary E. Hardison

At the early hour of 4:37 A.M., the angels appeared and relieved the suffering and bore the sweet spirit of our dear friend and loved one to her heavenly home where all is well; where pain, suffering and sorrow will be no more. The good faithful care of her doctors, nurses and family could not prolong her stay. Mary Edith (Harner) Hardison, the daughter of Henry Preston and Ruby Melissa (Holmes) Harner was born in the Mount Olive community on October 12, 1926. She departed this life, Wednesday October 25, 2006 at the age of 80 years & 13 days. She was married to John Paul Hardison on September 6, 1958. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1997. She is survived by one sister ƒ?" Earline Penrod Gore and her husband Lavern of Vienna; a Stepson ƒ?" Dennis Hardison and his wife Pat of Denver, Colorado; 2 Step Grandsons ƒ?" David Hardison of Denver, Colorado and John Hardison and his wife Ryoko of Chicago, IL; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her Parents and Husband, Mary Edith was preceded in death by the following sisters ƒ?" Opal Mescher, Mable Brooks, Mildred Harner, Margaret Harner and Demple Harner; and the following brothers ƒ?" Paul Harner, Carl Harner, Elmer Harner & Arthur Harner. Mary Edith lived most of her life in Johnson County. She worked 16 years for the General Telephone Company as well as several years at the Hillview Health Care Center. She was also a devoted wife and homemaker. She enjoyed working in her yard and painting lawn decorations. She also enjoyed receiving calls and visits from family & friends. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and attended Faith Harvest Assembly. ƒ?oShe fought a great fight, but the battle she could not win ƒ?" but now she has gone to be with God our everlasting friend.ƒ?? Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, October 28, 2006, at 1:30 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Scott Harner & Rev. Richard Swiney will officiate.
