Mary Alice Craig Age: 73 years A resident of rural Vienna, IL (the Tall Tree Lake community). Passed away peacefully Friday morning, October 19, 2007, at 6:30 AM at her home. She was born June 2, 1934 near Chaffee, MO. She was the daughter of Arlen M. Campbell and Louise (Cruse) Campbell. Mary Alice was united in marriage to Charles M. Craig on August 19, 1949 in Jonesboro, IL. He survives. Other survivors include: 2 Sons ƒ?" Charles Richard & Cathy Craig of Vienna, IL John Arlen & Vickie Craig of Tunnel Hill, IL 3 Daughters - Belinda Alice & Gary Halvorsen (the Pond community, Vienna, IL) Mary Charlene Dahmer of Ozark, IL Tamera Elaine & Neal Mahan of Knob Noster, MO 11 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren a Brother ƒ?" Donald & Dee Campbell of Spring Hill, TN a Sister ƒ?" Virginia Jones of Metropolis, IL In addition to her Parents, Mary Alice was preceded in death by: 2 Sons ƒ?" Wesley Craig and Chesley Craig a Grandson ƒ?" Darren Johnson a Sister - Kathleen Jones a Son-in-Law ƒ?" Bill Dahmer 2 Brothers-in-Law - Glenn Breeden & Bob Jones Mary Alice was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She had a true ƒ?ogreen thumbƒ?? and enjoyed tending her yard, working in her vegetable garden, and canning & preserving the produce which she and her family raised. Even this summer, during her illness, Mary Alice canned over 20 quarts of green beans, as well as preparing tomatoes and tomato juice. Mary Alice was an excellent cook and is noted for many of her familyƒ?Ts favorite dishes, including her famous chicken and dumplings, white soup beans, slaw, cornbread, and from scratch homemade pumpkin pies. Mary Alice was a loving and devoted wife & mother. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Mary Alice enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and never complained during any difficulty or adversity. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Vienna Church Christ. Mary Alice loved and appreciated her ƒ?ofamilyƒ?? at Real Rehab in Vienna. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Funeral services will be held Monday morning, October 22, 2007, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Donald Campbell will officiate. Interment will be in the Simpson Cemetery, near Buncombe, IL. Friends may call from 10 AM ƒ?" 11 AM Monday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
